10th ANNUAL 2023 TOURNAMENT - UPDATED INFORMATION!

It’s our favorite time of year again! Golf season is on the horizon and we invite you to participate in the 10th annual Farquhar Chrysler Charity Golf Tournament. On May 28th 2023, we return to Osprey Links Golf Course!

Without your support in 2022 we would not have been able to make our 9th year as successful as it was, raising $95,000 with our double your impact donation.

We’re excited to announce that in collaboration with the Murphy Family, Geoff and Tracy Richardson are thrilled to take over the tournament for 2023! Dennis will serve as the Honorary Chair, lending his expertise and advice during this time of transition. The Murphy Family is delighted to be passing this event onto like-minded community champions.

True to the Tournament’s legacy of caring for moms and babies, funds raised in 2023 will support the purchase a specialized retinal camera for the NICU for ROP Screening.

ROP stands for ‘retinopathy of prematurity’ and is a potentially blinding eye disorder that can affect premature infants. Presently, the exam can only be done by anophthalmologist. With advancements in technology, the new retinal camera allows clinicians to perform the retinal exam, capturing digital images. The images of the infant’s retina can be examined virtually by an ophthalmologist, anywhere in the province, for signs of ROP. Premature infants are not permitted to leave the hospital without this test and through the purchase of this camera, our tiniest citizens can go home much sooner, without
delay (which could be days or weeks) due to this requirement for discharge.

PREVIOUS TOURNAMENT'S

2022 was our 9^th annual tournament. Our eighth year was very successful in raising over $25,000, purchasing a Giraffe Isolette (incubator) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where tiny patients receive care until they are strong enough to go home with their families.

In 2021 all participants thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Last year, we invite you to join us in, again, raising funds for the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s (NBRHC) smallest patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Labour and Delivery area.

Our little patients need new Hugs® Protection System

Hugs® system provide peace of mind for families and caregivers. It offers hospital wide protection for infants and pediatrics patients. Hugs® is in use worldwide today to protect not just newborns, but pediatric patients of all ages and even NICU babies at open crib stage. Much needed protection applies to not just stranger abduction but to the ever-changing family dynamics that sadly occur as well as family abduction.

Children are one of our most valuable resources and it is our responsibility to ensure that they receive the care and attention needed to thrive. They depend on us to teach them, keep them safe and healthy, and to love and provide for them. It takes a village to raise a child, so let’s continue to build our village!
